ABOUT ME

Audrey Martinez, Ph.D. PSY29711

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and I am trained in providing evidence-based treatment for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), interpersonal trauma, and anxiety disorders.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Master’s degree and Ph.D. from Loma Linda University. I was trained in the Department of Veterans Affairs at Loma Linda Healthcare System, Memphis VA Medical Center, and VA San Diego Healthcare Systems treating Veterans with PTSD, anxiety, depression and couples. I worked for three years with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) (side note, I never bought into the whole Varsity/JV thing between City and County) providing outpatient services, training for new recruits and probationary members, station visits, on-call services, and department wide trainings. I left the department to focus full-time on private practice and focus more time on being a parent.

In terms of my therapy approach, I have a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as training in third wave therapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. I have been trained in Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. Overall, I like to use an integrative approach to help clients gain understanding of their issues, learn practical skills to address various issues, and use tools to help bring about change. I also work with couples experiencing relational distress on a limited basis. Call for availability.
